  Bishop Roan S. Faulkner, Sr.

ROAN S. FAULKNER, SR., was born on June 28, 1947 in the beautiful island of Jamaica.  He is the second of four children born to Inez Faulkner and the late Thomas Faulkner.

He received the baptism in Jesus’ name at the age of seventeen and was filled with the Holy Ghost.  At the age of eighteen he was called to the ministry under the leadership of the late Pastor Mary E. Bailey.  Rev. Faulkner was ordained “Elder” on March 6, 1966 by the late Bishop R.A. Carr.

On February 25, 1969, Rev. Faulkner moved to Baltimore, Maryland, USA where he continued his ministry under the leadership of the late Bishop R.A. Carr.  He served as Youth President and Associate Minister. 

 

In 1980 Elder Faulkner joined the First United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) under the dynamic leadership of Bishop Monroe R. Saunders, Sr. and in 1988 he was appointed Pastor of the Capitol Hill United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) in Washington, DC.   In 1990 Elder Faulkner was appointed Overseer of the National Men’s Department of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic).   While serving in this capacity he rendered outstanding, faithful and dedicated service. 

In 1992, Elder Faulkner was appointed Pastor of Columbia Apostolic Church in Columbia, Maryland whose name was later changed to New Life Pentecostal Ministries and in 1993 he founded the New Life MinistriesBroadcast as part of the church’s outreach ministry.  

At the 31st Annual Holy Convocation of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) in June, 1996, Elder Faulkner was consecrated “Bishop”.  Since his consecration he has faithfully served as a member of the Board of Bishops and the Diocesan Bishop of the 1st Episcopal Diocese (Central PA - Harrisburg/Wilkes-Barre; Delaware; Maryland; District of Columbia; Northern, VA (North of Richmond) and the 6th Episcopal Diocese (Northern & Southern Florida) of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic).

Bishop Faulkner received his formal education in the public schools of Jamaica and later moved to the United States.

As a community activist, Bishop Faulkner has been actively involved in the Howard County School system where he was elected President of the Parents of African-American Students at Mt. Hebron High School.   He faithfully served in this capacity for four years.

Bishop Faulkner has traveled extensively and has taught, preached and conducted revival services throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean Islands, and Great Britain.  He is an anointed servant of God with a dynamic healing and deliverance ministry.

In 2002 Bishop Faulkner founded and established the New Life Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization of which he is the President and CEO.  In June 2004, Bishop Faulkner was appointed Assistant Presiding Bishop of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) with churches throughout the United States, Canada, Jamaica and Antigua. 

Bishop Faulkner is married to the lovely, Elder “Queen Esther” Faulkner, daughter of Chief Apostle Dr. & Mrs. Monroe R. Saunders, Sr.  They are the proud parents of three children, Diane, Clarence and Roan, Jr.
